In fact, he hated the way he looked and he hated his life style. He was tired at school, he was frustrated at work and he was just lack of energy and positive passion in general. Michael had tried so many different ways to lose weight, gain more energy and most importantly, to change his body type. None of them seemed working well enough while he tried everything he could think of including weight-lose pills, weight-lose drinks, not eating after 6pm, not drinking too much water, not eating carbs, working out very hard in gym 3 hours a day, 7 days a week. He tried everything he had heard of (you probably have heard and been doing the similar things). He got so tired of the way he looked and he knew he had to do something about it. Michael gave up on the myths and started doing his own research and experimenting on himself. Finally he had come to a solid conclusion and came up with his new concept that worked perfectly for him. Not only starting to lose weight, his body fat dropped dramatically and he started getting the body that he has always wanted. In 2002, Michael became a certified trainer and applied his concept on everyone who worked with him to help everyone who wanted to change their body shape. Everybody he had worked on has gotten the result he/she wanted and everyone was satisfied with the result.

As she began her family, she found more and more of her time devoted to the care of others while devoting no time to her own health and physical fitness. Like many women, with each child, she gained weight and lost most but not all so that by the time her last daughter was born, she was 5-10 pounds heavier than she wanted to be but simply could not find the time or energy to give to herself. Each year, a pound here and a pound there crept up on her until one day she realized she was 30 pounds overweight and she had allowed most of her family’s growing years to pass with her avoiding cameras and events requiring photos because she was so unhappy with how she looked and felt. In July 2006, Dina made a life changing decision and walked into her local gym to lose weight and reclaim the person buried deep inside--the one she actually liked. She plugged along for over a month, struggling on her own to figure things out until one day she found Michael’s class. To this day, she describes that event as the “luckiest day of her life!” Finally, Dina found what she was looking for--a fun and very physical workout that kept her constantly challenged and engaged. When Michael began Perfect Balance, she was right there for his first session! And when the bulky winter clothes came off, she emerged much as a butterfly shocking everyone she knew with her dramatic transformation. Gradually, Dina realized that not only had she changed on the outside but she had rediscovered the confidence and independence that had once been so much a part of her personality. She discovered that the better she took care of herself, the better she was able to care for others. In short, she became a better Dina!! It didn’t take long before she realized how much she wanted to give that gift to others. Already a passionate and dedicated advocate for the Perfect Balance lifestyle, she decided it wasn’t enough to simply motivate everyone she knew to join. She wanted to help them all the way through their own transformations. After much thought, she became a trainer and has been training ever since. Dina’s only regret is that she didn’t do it all sooner!!

Al Furumoto

Encouraged by a friend, Al tried weight lifting as a means to improve his strength and stamina in order to enjoy life to its fullest. After moving to California in 2007, Al sought a means to continue his training in an effort to maintain the cardio strength necessary to compete in Hawaiian Outrigger Paddling, a water sport that involves both mental and physical stamina. In 2007, Al found Perfect Balance and under the encouragement and guidance of Trainer Michael Huang, Al successfully competed in the 2008 Moloka’i Hoe, a 41 mile ocean race between the Islands of Moloka’i and O’ahu. This was Al’s 9th participation in the International event. As a PBalance Training Specialist, Al uses his knowledge as a Licensed Massage Therapist and an athlete to encourage and support his clients. A Professional Member with the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), a proud and active supporter of the Kamehameha Canoe Club of Hilo, Hawai’i and an active member of the Kilohana Canoe Club of Redwood City, California, Al found balance in dedicating the last ten years to the promotion and perpetuation of the cultural and competitive aspects of Hawaiian Outrigger Canoe Paddling while sharing his knowledge and experience in health and fitness with others.

PBalance Training SpecialistBeing overweight was something I, Fawad Akbar, had to live with my whole life. I went through life being overweight and unhappy. I’ve always wanted to lose weight, but like most people, I enjoyed eating fast food and never liked working out. more..
However, even when I was motivated to work out, I would never see any changes in my body. I resorted to tons of diet plans and pills that never worked. All I was doing was throwing my money down the drain because at the end of the day, I weighed more than when I started. In 2006, I met Michael Huang who introduced me to a new way of living. It consisted of working out and a whole new food pyramid I had only seen back in grade school. After being very rebellious, I finally gave in to Michael’s concept and I started living the PB life. After only a of couple weeks of changing my diet and working out on a consistent basis, I saw changes in my body that I had never seen before. It is now 2011, and I am a trainer at Perfect Balance. I believed in Michael’s concepts and it changed my life drastically. While overweight, I constantly battled injuries varying from back pain to joint issues caused by my weight. I can proudly say that I am in the best shape of my life and it is because of Perfect Balance. Seeing how this changed my life only motivates me more to help other people change their life. When you see something work, it only makes you believe in it that much more. It has inspired me to change my life and it has inspired me to help anyone that is looking to do the same.
